Listening to Lakeshore: It's Time to Move Forward

Over the past several years, I have spoken with residents from every corner of Lakeshore. Whether at community events, local businesses, or in everyday conversations, one message has been consistent: people want to be heard and leaders who listen.

Our community is growing, and with growth comes new challenges. Instead of ignoring those concerns, we need to face honesty, transparency, and a commitment to finding practical solutions.

Here are the issues I hear about most often.

Flooding and Stormwater

Too many families worry about flooding after heavy rain. Protecting homes and improving stormwater infrastructure must remain a priority. We need to plan rather than react after problems occur.

Roads, Traffic, and Infrastructure

As Lakeshore grows, our roads, intersections, water systems, and sewers must keep pace. Residents deserve safe roads, reliable infrastructure, and thoughtful planning that prepares us for the future.

Managing Growth Responsibly

Growth is important, but it must be balanced. We need to protect the character of our neighborhood while ensuring new development benefits both current and future residents. Growth should improve our community, not overwhelm it.

Respecting Taxpayers

Every tax dollar belongs to the people of Lakeshore. As someone who spent decades making significant business decisions and managing large budgets, I understand the importance of spending wisely, eliminating waste, and delivering value.

Greater Transparency

One of the concerns I hear about most often is that residents want more openness from Town Hall. I believe decisions should be explained clearly, meetings should be easy to follow, and residents should have meaningful opportunities to share their opinions before important decisions are made.

Technology gives us new ways to involve the public. I want to explore ways to gather community feedback, so Council has a better understanding of what residents want before major decisions are made.

Building a Vibrant Community

Our waterfront and marina are incredible assets. I believe we can make better use of them by supporting more family-friendly events, live music, festivals, and activities that attract visitors while creating opportunities for local businesses to grow.

I also want to continue encouraging meaningful business development in our downtown areas, creating places where people want to shop, dine, and spend time with family and friends.

Fair and Consistent Service

Residents deserve responsive customer service and consistent by-law enforcement. Everyone should be treated fairly, respectfully, and equally.

My Commitment

I am 61 years old and have spent my career working my way from the shop floor as a tool and die maker to leadership positions where I reported directly to CEOs and made important business decisions affecting millions of dollars. I know what it takes to lead, solve problems, and build strong teams.

I don't come from politics. I come from real-world experience, where accountability matters and results matter.

As a volunteer member of the Canadian Coast Guard Auxiliary, I also understand the importance of service, teamwork, and putting others first.

If I earn your trust as Mayor, my commitment is simple:

  • I will listen.

  • I will lead with honesty and transparency.

  • I will respect every taxpayer’s dollar.

  • I will make decisions based on facts, common sense, and the best interests of our community.

  • I will work every day to move Lakeshore forward.

Together, we can build a community that is stronger, more transparent, more welcoming, and better prepared for the future.

Let's move Lakeshore forward—together.

Lakeshore needs affordable housing, but housing and jobs need to grow together. Adding homes without enough local jobs puts more pressure on our roads, water, wastewater and services.

We need to attract more commercial and industrial investment, create good-paying local jobs and strengthen our tax base.

More business. More jobs.
