Increasing Transparency and Giving Residents a Stronger Voice
One of the most important responsibilities of municipal government is listening to the people it serves. As I speak with residents across Lakeshore, I continue to hear the same message: people want more transparency and a greater voice in local decision-making.
Town Hall decisions affect our taxes, services, infrastructure, development, and quality of life. Residents deserve to know what is being discussed, why decisions are being made, and how those decisions will impact our community.
My Commitment to Transparency
If elected, I will work to increase transparency at Town Hall by making information easier to access and easier to understand. Residents should not have to search through lengthy reports or attend every meeting to stay informed.
Giving Residents a Voice
I also believe we can use modern communication tools and local media to better understand public opinion on important issues facing our municipality.
For major topics before Council, I would like to see opportunities for residents to participate in public surveys and community feedback initiatives where they can indicate whether they agree, disagree, or have alternative suggestions. This feedback would not replace the Council's responsibility to make decisions, but it would provide valuable insight into the priorities and concerns of the people we represent.
By listening more effectively, Council can make better-informed decisions that reflect the wishes of the community.
Working Together
Good government starts with trust. Trust is built through transparency, communication, and accountability. My goal is to create a municipal government that listens, engages, and works alongside residents to build a stronger future for Lakeshore.
The best ideas often come from the people who live, work, and raise their families here. Together, we can create a more open and responsive local government.
